    Training Activities at J.O.T.I.

    The training activities include Induction training for fresh appointees and refresher training for in-service Public Prosecutors.

    Induction Training:

    Judicial Officers Training Institute conducts 5 weeks residential training for newly recruited Assistant Public Prosecutors.

    Refresher Training:

    The refresher training comprises one or two weeks of residential training for in-service Public Prosecutors.

    Specialized Training Programmes:

    The institute regularly conducts special training programmes for Public Prosecutors on important legal subjects such as: Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita, 2023 (BNS), Bhartiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, Bhartiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA), 2023,PC & PNDT Act, Prevention of Corruption Act, Maharashtra Prohibition Act, Maharashtra Police Act, NDPS Act, POCSO Act, MCOCA,SC & ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, Information Technology Act, Bail & Remand, Forensic Science, Cyber Crimes, Electronic Evidence, Human Trafficking Laws, Forest Laws, Law of Evidence, and the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, etc.These programmes are organized in coordination with stakeholders, NGOs, Forest & Government Officials, experienced lawyers, judges, and domain experts.

    Training Course Contents:

    Training includes classroom teaching, guest lectures, and group discussions led by experienced resource persons including senior Judicial Officers, Prosecutors, Advocates, Law College faculty, Forensic Experts, Medical Officers, and Handwriting Experts.

    Mock Trials, Role Play, Psycho Drama & Problem Solving Exercises:

    Mock trials are conducted to observe and guide prosecutor performance. Psycho dramas help trainees prepare for high-pressure courtroom situations.
    Problem-solving exercises are regularly included in the curriculum.

    Training on Stress Management & Communication Skills:

    APPs face stress during criminal trials and in personal life. To help them manage stress and build communication skills, JOTI organizes special sessions led by expert psychologists. These interactive, full-day sessions have received positive responses and are conducted regularly.

    Field Visits:

    Trainees visit courts (JMFC, District, Sessions, High Court), forensic labs, central prisons, and reserved forests to gain practical legal knowledge and procedural insights.

    Library Facilities:

    JOTI has a well-equipped library with 50 laptops and Wi-Fi, offering the latest law journals, books, and legal software for trainees’ use.
